Jared's First Day of Preschool!
Jared's been going to preschool for a couple of weeks now, but this was his first day. He is loving it, but was definitely apprehensive the first couple of times. Just needed to warm up. Ayda, however, was in the classroom like a dirty shirt. She definitely would have stayed if she could have.
I can't believe that he's in preschool already. Next kindergarten, and before I know it, he's going to be getting married! Okay, Allison - breathe. Back to Jared. I knew that he would do fine at preschool - he has been well socialized his whole life and is smart. The one thing that I really like about this new set-up is that he has a new authority figure. He listens well to his grandparents and aunt & uncles and close friends, but this is different. This is someone he needs to listen to because they are in a position of authority, and he went in not knowing her. I'm not worried that he won't listen, I'm just happy to have started this process in his life. And we put him into a Christian preschool, which I like. It's also the preschool all of his older cousins went to, so that's pretty special.
It is taking a bit to get used to this school-thing for me, though. And it's not even full-fledged school! But we have to be somewhere at a certain time 2 times a week, I have to have a snack packed and ready to go, I have to remember to pick him up (I set the alarm on my phone the first couple of days to make sure!). But it's all good. We are all enjoying the experience! In fact, if Ayda can get her act together in the potty department, I might see if she can join a class in January...we'll see. She would SO love it.
