Ayda is definitely potty trained. And I am loving it. She has the odd accident, but usually only if she can't get her pants down fast enough! Hey - does anyone have any haircut ideas for a little girl with curly hair that is quite thin and mattes SO easily?! I always just assumed she'd have long hair like me, but I think it would be better if it was shorter, at least for now. I think if I had it cut into a longer bob-style, then her curls might stay better and it would be easier to manage. When her hair is wet, it's like she has two heads of hair: the outer layer is nice and curly and then as it dries is gets frizzy and straighter. But then the inner layer is full of tight curls. And since I have nothing resembling curly hair, I really don't know what to do. So any other ideas besides mine?!
And every once in awhile I think I might let Jared's hair grow out a bit, but then I touch his poor head after he's been running around/playing/etc. and it's so sweaty and I just think, forget it - and off goes the hair. But I keep doing the mohawk because he needs some sort of "levels" to his hair. But it is so thick and has a slight wave to it, and he complains when it starts to get long. A few months ago, he asked me if he could have a clip for his hair because it was making him hot. Poor kid.
Wow. That was riveting for all of you, I'm sure.
I'm going to California for a children's ministry conference next week. I'm excited about the conference, but hate to be leaving the kids again. And for that long again. They'll be fine and so will I (less fine than they will be, but fine nonetheless), still sucks.
I guess that's it for now. I'll try to have a more exciting post next time!

I would read your blog even if you never wrote anything 'exciting'. I am interested in YOU; if you are thinking about a new haircut for your curly haired child or telling the hundredth potty training story then that's what I want to hear. Those are the things of real life, and knowing the small details of a friend's everyday gives me a connection. I know that blogs are not the whole story of a person and we shouldn't assume we know everything about a person's inner being by reading a blog, but just knowing something about what you did today, what you're thinking about and what you'll be doing next week is .....hmmm. Comforting. Reassuring. I want to know all is well on the other side of the ocean, and that although our friendship has been really stretched by distance and time, that I can still share a part of your life. So thank you for sharing :)
