Nope, not going to post any pictures to go along with this story...they would just be too gross! I had put Ayda on the floor to get Jared's breakfast ready. When I went to pick her up to give her her breakfast, I felt something drop onto my arm, so I kinda spun a bit to see what it was and at that moment heard a "splat" on the floor. Yup, the girl had pooped so much that when I picked her up and settled her on my arm, it splooshed out onto my arm and onto the floor. (Thankfully the hardwood, not the rug!!) Now this was not a newborn up the back type of poop. That kind is actually way better - it soaks into their clothing and at least that is the only place it generally goes (unless they are in the carseat!). Anyway, this was half solid, half ...well, half between solid and runny. So I run upstairs and stick her into the bathtub, desperately trying to avoid dropping poop onto the brand new rug. After she is safely in the tub, I survey the situation. Poop is: on my arm, on the sides of the tub, on the shower curtain, on Ayda's hand, on Ayda's back, on Ayda's outfit, on my shirt and somehow in the sink. I run the water and rinse my arm off, only to have some of the solid poop run towards Ayda, who thinks it would be great fun ot play with it. Ughhh. Okay, back Ayda up as far as she can and try to keep the poop near the drain. Only half of it won't go down the drain, because it's solid! So I have to scoop it up and put it into the toilet. Finally it's time to strip Ayda and quickly rinse off her clothes and throw them into the sink. Now it's bath time. So she gets clean and diapered. Now it's time to clean the tub and sink and shower curtain. Finally that's done. Now I need to change and wash my hands and arm. Done. Lastly, the floor downstairs needs to be cleaned up. Yeah! All the poop was finally taken care of. Honestly, I have no idea where she stored that poop until this blow out. And I had changed two poopy diapers, containing nuggets, already this morning!! How does she do it?!?!?
To top it all off, after her bottle at noon, I burped her. She obliged by giving me two beautiful burps, and then I heard the gurggle. Yup, up came about 2 ounces of milk, all over me and the floor, as well as herself. Sigh. Everyone, including Jared, is on their third outfit of the day. At least for Jared, it was due to strawberry jam this morning and tomatos this afternoon. Anyway, we are all clean and they are sleeping. Nice.

Ah, wonderful parenting moments! I know how you feel!
When Atticus was little we were out for dinner and he filled his diaper with the classic up-the-back poop. When I picked him up to go change him it squirted out all over my white shirt. A month later at the same restaurant the exact same thing happened, but it was Vin who had the yellow poo all over his shirt. No one had told us that keeping an extra outfit in the diaper bag meant parents too.
I'm not sure if I should be totally grossed out by these stories, or grateful to know that these things will inevitably happen so be prepared!
Yeah, Paige, don't be totally grossed out!! Things will happen and you just have to laugh and take it in stride. They make great blog stories!!
