Jared was messing around in the kitchen this evening, so I asked, from the living room, "What are you doing, Jared?" To which he replied, "I making coffee!" So I peeked in, and sure enough, he was playing with the coffee maker. Not really something I want him to do, however, so Mommy ruined his fun.
Second story - yesterday evening, Jared and Ryan were outside. All of a sudden I hear a pounding at the front door, and Ryan calls, "Get the camera!" So I grabbed it and ran outside to find Jared, stuck in the gate, yelling, "Help! Help!" So what do his parents do? Take pictures, of course! He always tries to escape the yard, and his best bet is through the front gate, so Ryan made a loop at the top so that even though he can unlatch it, he can't get it open enough to get through. Or so we thought. He found out the hard way that he can get everything but his head through!! So there is a safety purpose for his big head!!
Third story, sort of - Jared has started asking, all the time, what various people are doing. But he says it in such a cute way. We haven't captured it on camera yet, but we really need to. Anyway, it goes something like this: "Mommy (or Daddy or Grandma or Papa, etc. - who ever is around), whatcha doonin?" I just love it. I still can't believe that words and phrases that he is learning and speaking. He is such my big boy!!! He even ordered off the menu today, by himself! Of course, it was the BP's kids menu, which has pictures, but he looked at it, and first pointed to and said, "Burger, me burger." And then it was the grilled cheese and then the bugs and cheese. So when the waitress came, I said, "Jared, which one do you want?" And he pointed and said, "Bug macaroni." I was so proud of him!!
This was definitely a Jared post, but Ayda is still her sweet self. She is really close to rolling and sitting. I'm so not concerned, but it is interesting to see the differences between her and Jared. She just doesn't have the same desires that Jared did. Oh, she does everything she's supposed to in reasonable time (I still think she might be a bit behind where she would have been if she hadn't been so early), but Jared just did everything so far ahead of where he "was supposed to". She's just more content and laid back. Like today, at the restaurant, for the most part, she sat quietly in the highchair, chewing on toys, only complaining at the end when she started getting tired. I don't remember Jared ever lasting that long at a meal without needing some form of entertainment or activity! But they love each other so much!!! Jared is always hugging Ayda and Ayda is always grinning at Jared. They are my precious pair. I do say, Ryan and I make great babies/kids!! :)

Yes, you do make cute ones! I love those stories of Jared--keep 'em coming! Also love hearing what Ayda's up to and seeing pictures of her even if the post is mostly about Jared!
Jared just continues doing things that are so 'Jared like'. He is just constantly learning and exploring, but what else would a boy do right? And I can't believe how much Ayda has grown up in the last little while as well. Love seeing your pictures of your lovely children.
Atticus has a big head too. Glad to know it'll come in handy in safety situations!!
Loved getting an update on the kids, I didn't knowhow to access here till Heather showed me how. Kids are such a joy, they just keep you laughing (and sometimes crying,it's true).
