It's been awhile since I posted last, and I don't even have a picture to put up with this post! That's because we are currently in Arizona, visiting my brother and sister-in-law. We arrived on Tuesday and have been just hanging out since then. They are both working, and sitting around by the pool has suited us just fine. Of course, sitting by the pool carries a completely different meaning now that we have an active 11 month old - and Jared is exactly 11 months today!! It is so beautiful out here, and both Ryan and I have been taken back to life in Australia; it's somewhat different and somewhat the same. Obviously, here is desert with no ocean nearby, but a lot of the flora and fauna are similar. And I just think that there is something about the tropical areas of the world that just have a similar...I don't know...smell, maybe. Anyway, it's not humid, so that makes the heat comparible to our heat.
We are going up to the Grand Canyon on Friday and Saturday, so that will be very different from any place I've ever seen. We saw it from the plane, and even that was amazing.
Jared is trying to get at the laptop, so I'm going to sign off. Oh, except for one more thing, which I meant to post earlier. Jared has now officially started walking. He had been taking two or three steps towards things when he wanted to beforehand, but since Saturday evening, he walks distances, like across rooms, regularly. It's pretty fun! He is starting to choose walking over crawling in certain circumstances. And the progress in such a short time is amazing. From Saturday, when he wouldn't even try to catch his balance if he tilted to Tuesday, when he totally would stop and catch himself and then continue on walking. It's awesome. His body still sometimes gets ahead of his feet, and he falls constantly, but he's so good. I'm so proud of my beautiful boy. And he did so well on the flights - they fell nicely during his naptimes, so he spent most of the time sleeping, but even when awake, he wasn't annoying other passengers - if anything he was entertaining them. In Calgary, while waiting for our flight out, he was completely the entertainment for our section of the waiting area! I can't believe he'll be one in a month.
I probably won't post again until we get home, and then hopefully I'll have pictures to accompany it!!

That's great for Jared! Landon was about the same age when he started walking. And lucky you being in the warmth! I can't wait until we get that weather here, though it won't be the same without palm trees!
