Well, the astronomy night for my year one class has officially been cancelled. It's too bad; I was looking forward to it. See, the theme for this term is "space" so the year one teachers booked some astronomers to come out with their telescopes and give the kids a good look. We had activities planned for them, and we were going to have supper and it was going to be really fun. A good end-of-term activity (Yikes - only 2 1/2 more weeks until break!). And it has been clear practically every night since we have been here, but not tonight. The forecast is for thundershowers and it's clouded over. So no star-gazing. Ryan was even going to come and help!!
On a brighter note, two out of the three students chosen as finalists in the year one public speaking competition come from my class!! I am so proud of them, as they did really well. I was surprised that the school would include the young ones in the competition, but they actually did quite a good job.
And I have found a gym with a bus route I can use. I am so happy about that! It does take a bit of an effort to get there, as I have to make a transfer, but the point is that I can get there, and Ryan doesn't have to come running with me at night (which I prefer if I'm going to run outside), which he hates.
My ride is leaving, so I gotta stop.
