So I checked out this blog, and it's pretty boring right now. I am hoping to do some "decorating" soon.
Speaking of which, we did so much art today - I never want to see another glue bottle or paintbrush again!! And I was helping the kids type their creative writing stories - well I let one kid type her whole story by herself and said enough of that! Now they read it to me and I type!! I guess it's all a part of trial and error. I'm also teaching a unit on Canada to a grade six class every other day for the next three weeks. It will be interesting, as I've never worked with this age-group in the classroom. But I did a little introduction on Canada yesterday and they were super-attentive. They came in from recess as I was setting up and were totally silent, waiting. It was lovely. And they had a lot of questions, particularly about Northern Lights.
I'm just reading a sign that is to be posted on the schoolyard and it says: "Magpies nest in this area and may swoop on intruders. This is normal defensive behaviour during the breeding season and lasts up to six weeks. Protect yourself: move quickly through this area - don't run, wear a hat or carry an umbrella, bike riders -- dismount and walk." I've never heard of a magpie doing this, but hey, maybe our magpies in Canada are better behaved and not so barbaric!
Well, I'm still at school and it's time to go home. One more day until the weekend!
