I guess I need to take a 20 week belly photo, as that's the stage I'm at! I've been feeling fairly good, except lots of tightening in my tummy. I have no idea if it's just my body going "well, I've done this two other times, so I'm just prepping for what I know if coming" or if I am doing too much or what. It's not a contraction/braxton hicks, in that it's constant. When it started a couple of weeks ago, it was just after I'd done something strenuous or had a long day. As soon as I would lay down and relax, I was fine. Now, it takes a lot less to get the tightening. Even as I sit here and type, my tummy is tight. I've had a long and busy-ish day, but I've had a bath and been lounging on the couch for about half an hour. So I figure it should be relaxed by now! It's not super bad right now, but it's taking longer and longer to get relaxed. I'm worrying a bit. Any one else out there experienced this type of thing this early in their pregnancies?!

I know you are very busy but do you feel that you are constantly tired? What you are describing sounds very similiar to what I had with Maria plus I was very fatigued. Later in the pregnancy we found out she was breech and the doc said that tightening was her trying to turn. So if you baby is breech tell him/her to turn NOW!!

At this stage, the Baby is still flipping all around and doing summersaults - saw evidence of that at both my ultrasounds last week! So s/he hasn't settled into any position yet. I really hope this one doesn't end up breech. Jared was breech and then flipped at 36 weeks (we figure he was about 8 1/2 pounds at the time!) and it was horrid. I was so sick and in so much pain that weekend that he flipped! Of course, I was ultimately glad that he flipped, but it was so not fun!

I had tightening very early with my third and fourth pregnancies. I'm guessing maybe it's just a multiple pregnancy thing? But if you're worried, don't take my word for it; get it checked out.

Today the tightening was almost non-existant - we'll see what tomorrow brings! I did talk to my doctor and she said unless it comes and goes like contractions, it gets lower, or I stop feeling fetal movement, to not worry. So if things change, I'll go in, otherwise, it's belly massages for me!

I just thought the tightening was "normal", been experiencing it a lot when I've had a very active day - like haying and gardening and other farmy strenuous activity! It hasn't been painful for me, sometimes a bit uncomfortable but like you, if I relax for a while then it usually eases up. I've been using it as a sign to slow down on the days when I'm helping Brendan a lot. I don't remember much tightening like this from Kathryn's pregnancy, but I was WAY less active for hers and at this point already had way more aches and pains in my joints, probably because I was so much less active. For her pregnancy I basically sat in an office chair for the first 8 months and puttered around the house for the last month. This time around I've been dealing with an enormous garden, mowing the lawns, learning how to bale hay and drive a semi (slowly) on the field to haul the bales, not to mention chasing a toddler and keeping house. Hoisting myself up into the semi and tractors is a workout all in itself!
