I will be 12 weeks on Saturday. That's the day after tomorrow (possibly tomorrow by the time I post this). Isn't it supposed to get better at that point?! I guess it did with Jared but not with Ayda, so we'll see. This has so far been a much different pregnancy that the other two. Much more sickness and no spotting, which is odd for me. Spotting and pregnancy usually go hand in hand for me, so it's been nice to not have that extra worry!
And I've had two ultrasounds already - one because of my history and one because I am part of a study, and at my last appointment when I was almost 10 weeks, my doctor was able to find the heartbeat immediately. Earlier than with the other two. I was actually surprised, and not expecting it, but it was still really nice to hear!
The kids are referring to the Baby more and more. Ayda even more than Jared, which surprises me. Jared pushed on my stomach the other day and asked if that made the Baby cry. Ummm, no, but please don't push on my stomach! And Ayda keeps wanting to tell everyone that "Mommy has a Baby in her tummy". And she is very concerned for the Baby. When watching a slightly scary part in a movie, she told me that the Baby shouldn't watch it because it would get scared and cry. And she asked the other day if the Baby was hot in my tummy. Just very concerned about the Baby, and she keeps telling me where in my tummy it is. She is constantly putting a blanket on me to "keep Baby warm". And I told the kids that the Baby didn't like McDonalds so we can't go there much now - and she repeats that all the time. She also repeats what I've said about the Baby making me sick so I have to eat. This Baby is already fully a part of her life!! And they have both offered lots of help with him/her. Some name suggestions: Astro-Boy, Cora (from either Astro-Boy or Robots) and Benchy. Yeah, they won't be naming this Baby!
It's starting to be more real, even though I'm obviously not feeling anything yet, nor am I showing. The only physical difference is that I can't suck anything in anymore. So things are more "solid". I'm okay with staying out of maternity clothes for a bit longer. I know how sick I am of them by the end!!
