Well, as if my summer couldn't get any worse, we had a huge scare with Baby last weekend. Hence the lack of posts. During Sunday night, my water broke. Not a good thing at 16 weeks gestation. So off to the ER we went, where they rushed us up to antepartum. Thankfully my doctor was on call, so we actually had her, which was a huge blessing. She told us that realistically, things did not look good, as there is only a tiny chance that the tear will heal itself, and on the ultrasound, there was low amniotic fluid. However, if the tear did heal, the fluid levels would replenish and things would be good. So we prayed for a miracle, because I couldn't have handled anything less.
I was released on Monday afternoon, with strict instructions to not do anything until our next ultrasound on Friday. Come Friday, I had had no more fluid leaks, which gave us great hope! And the ultrasound showed normal fluid levels and a healthy Baby! In fact, s/he measured a week bigger than what s/he should have! I really don't care at this point, although I am hoping that maybe a growth spurt had just occured!! I just want a healthy child.
So that has been this past week or so. I am still on restricted activity, but I am feeling Baby move more and more, which is always reassuring, especially after a scare like we had. God totally worked a miracle in my life and while I was completely angry at Him last weekend, I do give Him the glory, because I know that He healed my body and is allowing me to keep this child that He has given to me to raise.

Although I do not know you, I have thought of you often since your mom passed away. I have been praying for your family, especially for your new baby. I am happy to hear that you seem to be healing, and I wish you continued health!

Hey Al,

Miss you all already! Especially in seeing that pic of Jared with Atticus - he is so precious! Keep posting pics on your blog as I'll miss seeing the stages of your pregnancy and the stages of Jared continuing to grow up.

Love you,
Joy
