So a stressful weekend has just come to an end. We had a pretty serious scare with Baby - spotting and such. I was seriously convinced that we had lost him/her. And with my history, I don't think anyone can blame me. But I had a doctor's appointment this morning, and he sent me straight for another ultrasound (let the u/s count begin! This was number 2 and I believe I had 6 with Jared) - in fact he walked me across the hall to the radiologist (how convenient that his office is right across from a radiologists' office!) and waited until the receptionist talked to the radiologist, making sure I got in, before he left (he's got pull!) And I had barely sat down in the waiting room when they called me in! The tech was great - as soon as she manouvered the thingy around, she said, "Well, I still see a good heartbeat." Exactly what I needed to hear! So she did her thing, taking the pictures, and then showed Baby to me - Baby then proceeded to jump around for me. So I am so very relieved and thankful to God for sparing his/her life. Nothing seems to be wrong, but my doctor referred me back to the Ob/Gyn I had with Jared for the remainder of the pregnancy, as a precaution. I suppose I am just basically more high risk in general. So I will see her tomorrow. What a way to spend a weekend. And these things always happen to me on the weekends, too, when you have to either wait it out, or decide to tackle the ER. Sigh. It's over. Thankfully!
As for Jared, he is such a boy! He is in love with being outside, loves to wear Ryan's work gloves, loves to climb ladders (real ones and the ones on his playcentre), loves to play with the hose and the rake and the shovel, etc. As for the ladder, at least he's not quite tall enough to get anywhere besides the first rung, so he's pretty safe. And he's a very strong-willed child (wonder where he got that from?!) and has started throwing little tantrums. You know, the arched back, can't hold him properly. So we just lay him down and let him go at it - it has never lasted more than a few seconds - once we put him down it's pretty much over. But trying to put him into his carseat when he's like that. Yikes! Not fun. I've had to literally stick my elbow into his crotch and pin him while attempting to put his arms under the straps. I keep telling him, either way, honey, you are getting strapped in, so don't waste your energy. He'll figure it out soon enough. I know that once he gets more language it will be better - he just can't communicate his feelings any other way. But he does say some things, like "nana" (banana), "chee" (cheese), "Daddy", Mommeee", "bye-bye", "Papa" (Grandpa), "mi" (milk) so it's coming and coming quite fast actually! He also sometimes says "Puppy" and "Ba" (ball). And then the jabbering that he does besides the real words - he has total conversations (again, wonder where he got that from!?) Anyway, he is my angel and I love him so very much.
Oh, and I figured out the ticker and blogroll things.
