Well, I wasn't sure if I should say anything, but I went to Shelen's blog, and she did, so I will too: Chester and Nevada had their baby girl at 11:14 AM our time today. I got the phone call at 3:30 this morning that they were heading to the hospital, so I was eagerly awaiting news all morning and it finally came. Her name is Gemma Mei and she weighed in at around 6 1/2 pounds and 20 inches long (approximate, since they do everything metric). Check out Nevada, Chester or Baby McKenzie's sites in my blogroll in the near future for pictures.
As for us, we are doing well: Jared has decided that sleeping through the night IS the way to go, so we are very thankful for that. Of course, he is currently screaming in his crib instead of sleeping. That always happens when we drive home around his naptime: he falls asleep in his carseat, wakes up when we get into the house and then decides that the 15 minutes of sleep was enough (which it most definitely is NOT!!)
I've started up with my soccer team again, which has been great. The first game back was a little rough: it's totally different going for a run compared to playing a game of division one soccer! My lungs didn't know what hit them. But by the next game they were fine, and we were in a tournament this weekend, and played four games in two days, and it was only in the second half of the last game that my legs decided that they didn't want to do this anymore, so I am happy with how fast I've bounced back. And my speed is almost back to where it was pre-pregnancy, so that's good! Now I just need to work on my footwork, which isn't quite back up to par and that is affecting my confidence on the field. But by Christmas I am guessing I should be completely back to normal. Sigh. I love soccer!
