I am so amazed at how loved our baby is already. And not only by Ryan and I, but by our parents and siblings, by our close friends and our not-so-close friends. My soccer team is enthralled by my tummy and the baby inside! What a blessing to have our child be born into this kind of love. It makes me so very thankful that I/we chose to do things "the right way" (dating, marriage, baby). I can't imagine "falling pregnant" (as my cousin, Chris, would say -those cute English people!) and not being excited to tell everyone, but in fact dreading it. Or not being excited ourselves. I'm a true believer in marriage before sex, but I think that even when considering marriage some people don't think about the fact that they are also considering a baby. I mean, if you are having sex, there is the very real chance that you might produce a child. Grade 7 sex-ed wasn't THAT long ago! While Ryan and I decided that we weren't going to try to have kids right after getting married, we talked more than once about the fact that by getting married and all that goes along with that, we were in fact saying that we were ready for kids, should they come our way. That's part of the potential responsibility that comes with the pleasure of sex. Get what I am saying?
Anyway, our child was planned and is loved and we are so excited. And we are so very thankful and blessed by all of you who are sharing in this joy with us. We appreciate beyond words what your excitement means to us! And we can't wait to show him/her off!!
