There are three things I am going to blog about today. The first is that I recently discovered that a friend, Shane, has been blogging since the beginning of the year. So I have added him to my blogroll. Him and his wife, Amanda, live in Moose Jaw, but I think they are moving back to Saskatoon, and Ryan and I are excited about that, and all that goes with it (more married couples to hang out with!)
Secondly, on Thursday, Ryan and I went over to Carrie and Chris's (sister and brother-in-law) and came back home with a bunch of baby stuff!! You see, they have three little, wonderful boys, whom we love dearly. Fortunately for us, the youngest two (twins) have just moved into bunkbeds, so cribs were available. They didn't have the room to store them, so we chose one to bring home. And while we were there, we thought we may as well grab a few other things that they don't need anymore. So we now have: a crib, a swing, a jolly-jumper, a carseat, an exersaucer, a vibrating chair (WONDERFUL THINGS!!!!), and a floor mat with an arch to hang stuffed animals from. It is so wonderful!! And yes, we have most of it set up already! :) Why just store it when it will be used shortly?! We are so thankful to have such lovely things that are in such good shape. What a blessing.
And thirdly, I will do the book survey thing that Lynette "tagged" me to do:
#1. Number of books I own: approximately 238 adult books, and probably about the same childrens/teenager books.
#2. Last book I bought: I just bought "The Mother of All Pregnancy Guides" off of ebay.
#3. Books I am currently reading: "Boundaries" by Henry Cloud and John Townsend, "Captivating" by John and Stasi Eldredge, and "What to Expect When You're Expecting" by Arlene Eisenberg, Heidi E. Murkoff and Sandee E. Hathaway.
#4. Last book I fully read: "Shopaholic Ties the Knot" by Sophie Kinsella.
#5. Five books that mean a lot to me: 1) As cliche as it may sound, The Bible! Where else would I find comfort for the soul, hope for tomorrow, and guidance for the future? 2) "The Body" by Charles Colson. I haven't read it in awhile, but of all the books I had to read at Briercrest, this was one that stands out as superior. 3) "The Photographer's Guide to Portraits" by John Freeman. As a "budding" photographer, this book has given me lots of ideas and helpful hints! 4) "Vienna Prelude" by Bodie Thoene. I am fascinated with WWII, and the Zion Covenant Series, starting with this book, is a wonderful historical fiction series that you just can't put down. 5) "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. May sound silly, but it has taught me A LOT about my body and being a woman. I have looked things up in it countless times in the last five months that I have had it. I recommend it for every woman, whether you are trying to conceive or not (the title is a bit mis-leading). Thanks Jessica, for encouraging me to read it!!
So that's about it for today. Tomorrow is Father's Day, so it's lunch with the Longueil's and supper with the Unger's.
