This weekend we celebrated my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. How awesome is that!? Unfortunately, the marriage hasn't necessarily been the best, and there are some issues still affecting many family members. And that makes me sad. Things could have been so different, but they weren't, due to bad decisions made. But still, hitting the 60 year milestone is quite the accomplishment, considering how long half of marriages today last! And next year is my other grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary. I do believe I need to be very thankful for the legacy I am being left through my family. Obviously, neither side of my family is perfect, but both have Christ as the centre. There have been no divorces, and all grandparents have never shown me anything but pure love. I love getting together with family, something that a lot of people either don't like or just plainly don't do. And the best part is that I married into a pretty close version of my own family. I love getting together with Ryan's family too! What a blessing - "He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and constantly loves those who love Him and obey His commands." Deuteronomy 7:9b
Speaking of family, Ryan and I , along with three cousins, watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" last night. Weird. Entertaining to some degree, but really weird.
On a side note, I am taking part in Lakeview Church's Art Cafe on November 4 and 5, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. I will have some photographs displayed and would love to see you all there! I'm not sure what other people are displaying - paintings, more photographs, sculptures, anything art-y. Oh, for those who don't know, Lakeview is at 130 Kingsmere Place - it's just off Taylor. See you then!
