Ahh, Ko Phi Phi. Yes, we have made it to an island off of Thailand. Well, it still belongs to Thailand. We left Krabi this morning, and after we arrived, it was time to hit the beach!! I said to Ryan, "This is why I came to Thailand." And it's true. Yeah, a jungle walk would be cool (is it anything like a rainforest walk? Cuz' we've been on a few too many of those) and temples and stuff can be interesting, but really, my motivation was the beach. And now we are here. And it's NOT RAINING! And only partially cloudy. Unfortunately, because of the past few rainy days, I don't think I will be able to achieve the tan that I had wanted to. Oh, I'll be tanned, just not with the "beat everyday in the sun at camp" tan. Sigh. Oh, well. Ryan and I have already decided that this is one country (and region) that we would like to come back to. Does anyone want to join us? It's so beautiful. This particular area is full of steep cliffs on the islands, along with the beaches. And thick rainforest...jungle..? We are on an island that, because of its beauty, has been over-developed. LOTS OF BACKPACKERS. Still, the beach was not crowded or anything. Oh, back to the cliffs, if anyone has seen James Bond "Man With the Golden Gun", part of it was filmed at an island here - its the place where the villan lives. "The Beach" was also filmed at the island right next to ours. We may go to it, we may not. We'll see. Anyway, for the next three days, I will be a beach bum before we head off to Singapore. Maybe I'll be a beach bum there for a day or two also!
